Hi everybody,I'm proud to invite all VTES players to attend our Nationals on Aug31, 2008.Last year we had 26 players, but we hope to have more this year!I have the higest expectations for the Polish players: the tournamentwill be definitely worth the travel! Come and see yourself!Ector
oczywiście nie ma nic złego w graniu dla przyjemności, sam zagrałem dwie takie gry w 2007
Anyone is thinking about travel to Minsk? Cheap alcohol and easy girls?

Boogie wrote:> Maybe we could get some more info on this event?> BoogieOK, sorry for being too brief The event will be in Minsk, Belarus on Aug 31. It will be a one-dayConstructed tournament. Our club is administration building of GorkyPark - you will inevitably find the club if you find the park Belarus is a poor country, so the entrance fee is insignificant(especially compared to the travel expenses). Prizes are also minimal- but a good play is guaranteed! Here's my answers to the questions of Polish players (from their forumand email)> I posted this information on polish vtes forum and people are asking> questions about it. Please be more specific (give more details) on the> group or (which would be better post something on our forum.> Below is link to proper topic.> http://vtes.pl/forum/index.php?topic=2645.msg49535;topicseen#msg49535>Thats nice but where it is, which city?Minsk. There are almost no players in the lesser cities, alas.>Dobra, jedno pytanie... po ch* gadamy po angielsku skoro zainteresowani i tak s± tylko Polacy? My Polish is awful, so please excuse me if I've got the questionwrong. I wrote that we especially want to see the Polish players sincethe distance isn't too large, and they probably won't be disappointedwith our relatively small tournament. Last two years we were happy tomeet Lithuanian players and play with them, and I hope to see themonce more. We definitely will be happy to see all players, but, frankly, I can't believe that an Australian player can pay tremendousmoney just to play here Ector

How long's the final?Three rounds for 2.5 hours each and then finals without time limit. This is our standard tournament structure. We found that 2 hours istoo little for serious tournaments, plus we always have a lot ofnewbs, and some of our players like to argue a lot.> Is play scheduled to start at 9, or is there registration before that?I meant registration starts at 9, real play will start at 10.If somebody want to pre-register, he is welcome > Will you be testing for blood-doping?Only if you insist > Really, it's hard to take V:TES seriously as a SERIOUS SPORT ANYMORE.> <--- A very sad faceI am still trying, and the absolute majority of my players want tohave at least one SERIOUS tournament a year.> Note also that starting very early in the day may discourage people from> travelling. Getting up at the crack of dawn to get the first train or> drive a long way is a pain, especially when you don't know the place and> so may well get lost/take a crappy route.Unfortunately, three rounds * 2.5 hours + finals will take more than10 hours, so if you add the inevitable breaks, you'll see that we areforced to start early. Personally I'd prefer to start early but play aserious tournament to start later, but have to play some messed-upgames when every round ends due to the time limit.Ector
